New Student Information

Welcome to Sew Happy!  
We are "sew happy" you are interested in sewing with us! Learning to sew is fun, exciting, and very rewarding and we're pretty sure you'll be hooked with your first lesson!


For Ages 8-18:

If you are brand new to sewing, we offer three options for learning the basics!

              1. Start with our Intro to Sewing course that will teach you the basics of sewing and using a sewing machine. You will also come home with your very first project!

                  OR

              2. Sign up for three, 1 hr private or semi-private lessons - these three lessons will allow you to work one-on-one with the instructor and get a good handle on the basics before moving on to weekly open classes or one of our camps or workshops.  Some students may even decide to continue private lessons!

                  OR

              3. Enroll in our Mommy and Me three-week sewing course and learn to sew with your mom! You will both learn the basics of sewing and using a sewing machine side by side, and you'll make some fun projects together (and memories too! :)

Once you have completed the Intro to Sewing course, private/semi-private lessons, or the Mommy and Me course, you can sign up for our weekly sewing classes, monthly workshops, and camps.


If you have previous sewing experience and can sew, thread a machine, and read a pattern, you can sign up for our weekly sewing classes, workshops, and camps. You are also welcome to take the Intro to Sewing course as a refresher course!


For Adults:

We offer beginner and intermediate sewing classes and quilting classes for adults, so whether you are a true beginner or you have some sewing experience, we have something for you!  We also offer Mommy and Me classes, where you can learn to sew alongside your child! Private and semi-private lessons can help you learn how to use your machine or help you with a particular skill or project. Please see our Adult Classes page for more information!
